Sparrow Class - Gallery

Wednesday 17th November 2021
In Science, Sparrow class has previously designed and written instructions to build a bug hotel. Today we used our scientific knowledge to ensure the mini beasts have plenty of food and water, shelter, warmth and air pockets for them to survive.

Below are photos of Sparrow class successfully completing their 1 mile walk. Although 10 laps around the playground seems challenging, everyone was motivated and proud to make such a difference in supporting children in need
Week Commencing 11th October 2021
Just a few snaps of what Sparrows have been up to this week!! In Science we have been looking at food chains and researching how to design and create a bug hotel which is something we hope to do after half term. In PE we used equipment to practise our perfect jumping techniques from different heights as well as balancing by focusing and concentrating with great determination!!
Week Commencing 4th October 2021
Below you will see pictures from our harvest festival celebrations. A video of the harvest poem being recited can be found on the home welcome page. Thank you again for your contributions.
Week Commencing 27th September 2021
It has been great to see the effort children have gone to in their brain builder project and as you can see below they are very proud of their work. This week we took some of our learning outdoors despite the rain and on the home page you will see how well Sparrow class are doing reciting their harvest poem with actions.
Week commencing 20th September 2021
Below you will find some photos that show what learning we have been doing in Maths and Literacy. As you can see, we also enjoyed eating delicious cakes raising a lot of money for a great charity.
Week Commencing 13th September 2021
Photos from this weeks learning include exploring micro habitats in Science, looking at atlases to investigate Polar Regions in Topic and using resources to support Maths learning of Place Value.
Week commencing 6.9.21
This week in Sparrow class we started a new topic, Frozen Planet. In Literacy we have been using adjectives and nouns to describe animals and things we might see and used this to create an Arctic scene in Art. In RE we have been looking at ways to be kind and Sparrow class already demonstrates this in and outside the classroom. We took our learning outside in our Science lessons looking for things that maybe alive or have never been as we begin to look at habitats to see what animals/insects may need to stay alive.
Sparrows class have enjoyed learning about the Judaism festival of Rosh Hashanah. They have learnt how to write Torah Scrolls using the Hebrew alphabet and have tasted apply and honey, celery, pear, apple and horseradish! The children made posters to demonstrate their learning of this festival.
