Welcome

Welcome,

At St Michael’s Church of England Primary School, we believe that every child is unique and we work closely with the Church and members of the school community to ensure their individual needs are met and our children feel supported to achieve their goals and aspirations. We welcome and embrace all faiths and work in partnership with parents to meet our children’s spiritual, emotional and physical needs.

We provide excellent teaching and a broad and balanced school curriculum that both engages and challenges our pupils so they achieve excellence and become enthusiastic, independent, lifelong learners.

As a Church school, we recognise how feeling part of a nurturing and caring community can enrich our lives, therefore we offer our children and their families opportunities for spiritual well-being including prayer, song, reflection and collective worship.  Our children understand that they have a responsibility, to respect not only our school environment, but also the wider world and all those who share it.

A wide range of sporting, creative and academic enrichment opportunities is offered so that every child is valued and can develop their individual talents.

Christian values underpin our vision for our children and school community for ‘Learning together through love, friendship, forgiveness and faith.’ These are the golden threads that run through all of our teaching and all of our relationships. Together with the 6Rs (respectful, rational, responsible, resourceful, resilient, reflective) they form the basis of our expectations of behaviour and ensure that our children are respectful, kind, tolerant and equipped with the life skills to make a positive contribution to society in the 21st century.

I feel very privileged to be the Headteacher of St Michael’s and witness children, on a daily basis, developing friendships, respecting each other’s unique characteristics and embedding the school’s Christian ethos.

At St Michael’s we believe children have the right to be safe and to be happy. Our school is a welcoming and loving environment where children thrive. We take every measure to keep our children safe and provide the pastoral care needed to deal with any problems they may encounter.

Thank you for taking the time to visit our school’s website. Please contact the school office if you would like to arrange a visit.
