School Closure

Dear Swallow Class,

I just wanted to say a huge well done for completing your first two weeks of home learning. I know it must have been difficult to get used to it (it has for me!) but I can see from your posts on Seesaw that you have done some excellent learning and I hope you’ve enjoyed it too! I have definitely missed seeing you at school but I am very thankful for the internet.

What an odd term it has been! I can’t believe the Easter holidays start today, I hope you can enjoy some time with your families. If you would like some ideas for activities to do over the two weeks then please see the ‘Easter activities’ tab on the school website. I hope you can enjoy going for walks or bike rides, let’s hope there is some lovely weather! You are welcome to keep posting what you have been doing on Seesaw, I will  check it occasionally and I would love to see what you have been up to. I might even post the odd activity which you can complete if you like.

I will be back posting more activities for you on here and Seesaw after the holidays!

Have a lovely break and happy Easter!

Best wishes,

Miss Tracy

Window Easter Egg Hunt
It would be lovely if children designed their own Easter egg and put it up in the window. Therefore, when people are walking around they can count how many they find. Get creative. Who can spot the most? You could take a photo of each one you find!
Dear Swallow Class,
Well done for completing your first week of home learning! I hope that you have enjoyed it - I have certainly enjoyed seeing updates from most of you on Seesaw. I have missed you though, it’s been weird not seeing you all at school! I hope you have a lovely weekend, I will be putting up some more activities for you on Monday.
Miss Tracy

Hi all,

I hope your home learning is going well! Remember to keep sharing what you have been doing on Seesaw and a Purple Mash, I have really enjoyed seeing your work. If you check Seesaw then you will find a video of how to plan an information text based on an animal of your choice. This would be a great activity to link our English learning from the past couple of weeks to our Science topic. I will be posting a video later on how to start writing.

Keep reading and practising your decimals in Maths, again I would love to see the work you have been doing. I have also set various ‘2dos’ on Purple Mash across the curriculum. Well done to those who have already completed these!

Keep smiling!

Miss Tracy

19th March 2020
Dear Parents and Carers,
I will update this page with more activities when necessary. Each child has received a pack with their passwords for Purple Mash, TTRs and Seesaw. Seesaw is a website where they can share their learning with each other and myself and is completely secure - I also  have to approve all posts before they appear. On Purple Mash they are able to e-mail me and each other (I have to approve all e-mails sent) but nobody apart from that. It will be lovely to see what they have been doing at home! I will also update these two websites with various activities which the children can complete. There will be a mixture of online work and activities that can be done on paper. Please also see the 'home learning activities' document for ideas across the curriculum. There are also a range of links to useful websites below. If your child was in school on Friday, they will have brought home three Maths textbooks. You may wish to use these to recap topics that we have already covered (place value, addition and subtraction, length and perimeter, multiplication and division, fractions, area and some of decimals). Alternatively, you may wish to have a go at topics we are yet to cover. Please see ‘White Rose’ for our scheme of learning and some special home learning lessons on decimals. If you have any concerns regarding not having enough resources (i.e. pencils and paper) then please contact the school. Thank you for your support during this period of uncertainty!
Kind regards,
Miss Tracy
