St Michael's School Development Plan 2026/27
Vision
Following the strong improvements in pupil outcomes, including our best SATs results in recent years, our aim is to continue building on this success. We want every child to receive a consistently high-quality education from EYFS to Year 6, with high expectations, an ambitious curriculum and an inclusive approach that enables every pupil to flourish and succeed.
Our vision, “Creating a community where we learn together through respect, kindness, curiosity and faith,” underpins all aspects of our school development. We will continue to nurture a community where pupils and adults learn together, showing respect and kindness towards one another, developing curiosity through a rich and ambitious curriculum, and growing in faith and spirituality.
Through strong leadership, shared responsibility, clear communication and effective partnerships with staff, governors, parents and the wider community, we will work together to ensure that every child is valued, supported and able to flourish.
Our priorities are:
1. Quality of Education
To provide high-quality teaching in Reading, Writing and Mathematics, inspiring children to reach their potential. We aim to strengthen writing outcomes and ensure every child receives the right balance of support and challenge to make progress and develop a love of learning.
2. Leadership and Management
To strengthen leadership, communication and teamwork across the school. Through staff training, subject monitoring, pupil progress meetings and effective assessment, we will continue to improve teaching and outcomes for all pupils. We will work together with staff, governors and families to support our school community.
3. Inclusion and Disadvantaged Pupils
To ensure every child feels valued, included and supported to succeed. We will provide targeted support, carefully monitor progress and continue our Levelling Up strategy to improve outcomes and opportunities for disadvantaged pupils and those with additional needs.
Through these priorities, we aim to create a community where every child is encouraged to be curious, treated with kindness and respect, and supported to flourish.
